Description

Coherent Systems offer the Naim NAP 250 New Classic power amplifier from the acclaimed New Classic range. The unit is in absolutely mint, ‘as new’ condition, has seen light use only, and comes with all original boxes and paperwork. It was purchased from a genuine UK Naim dealer in 2023. First launched in 1975 and now in its sixth generation, the NAP 250 is one of the most famous names in British hi-fi, and this latest version carries technology straight from Naim’s flagship Statement amplifier. It’s the natural partner for the NSC 222, which is also available this week alongside the NPX 300 power supply, sold separately.

• 100 watts per channel: 100W into 8 ohms, with the drive and control to grip a wide range of loudspeakers.
• Statement-derived output devices: eight custom NA009 output transistors, developed for Naim’s flagship Statement amplifier.
• DR power regulation: Naim’s Discrete Regulator technology for a stable, fluid power supply under the most demanding musical peaks.
• Fully balanced inputs: true balanced XLR inputs for the lowest noise from the NSC 222 or NAC 332. A single-ended adapter is available from Naim for legacy sources.
• Refined thermal design: a new heatsink arrangement and soft-start circuitry keep it running cool and stable at high output.
• Built the Naim way: a heavy, non-magnetic aluminium chassis shields the circuitry from interference. It weighs 16.8 kg.

Expert Perspectives

Reviewers agree the sixth-generation NAP 250 is a worthy heir to a legendary name. What Hi-Fi awarded it five stars for sound and build, praising its fast, punchy delivery, excellent detail and admirable composure and control on demanding music. Alpha Audio described the New Classic 200 series as a wonderfully musical system, with excellent rhythm, imaging and control.

Your chance to own the latest incarnation of a British hi-fi icon for sensible outlay.
